Established on May 5, 2008, Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank has inherited the strengths of modern technology, market experience and financial potential of strategic shareholders including: Gold and Silver Group. Quarter DOJI, FPT Technology Group, VMS Mobile Information Company (MobiFone), Vietnam Reinsurance Corporation (Vinare) and SBI Ven Holding Pte. Ltd (Singapore).

In December 2013, TPBank had a big turning point when it successfully restructured and was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister for this achievement. At the same time, Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank also launched a new brand identity with the transaction name shortened to TPBank.
